Nature offers us so much: it's a place where we can escape the stressors of everyday life, where we feel more connected, were we can experience awe-inspiring scenery, where we can challenge ourselves in our search for inner power and confidence, where we can heal, and we where we get to experience the universe in all its splendor. Whether you're walking a trail in dense oxygen-rich forests, sitting beside a cascading mountain stream, sleeping under the milky way, or stepping up onto a rocky or snow covered peak - you can't help but walk away from an experience outdoors feeling refreshed and renewed and better able to live your life more centered and more empowered.

True North experience provides an opportunity for you to learn new skills and gain new experiences outdoors. Each of our experiences will include virtual instruction on everything from leave no trace, to training and nutrition for alpine exploration.

Our Experiences

Our outdoor experiences are about connection to Nature and other, and orienting yourself towards your True North - your Spirit. Spirit is the driver, Nature is the teacher and guide, and the Physical is the result.

How does this translate into an actual outdoor experience?

​

Take one of our day hikes as an example.

 

On a group day hike, before we head down the trail, you will learn very simple, yet powerful tools to keep you heart-centered which will allow for healthy connections. During the hike you will learn how powerful remaining present in the current moment can be through simple mindfulness focused exercises and conversation. At the destination you will learn how to connect to your Higher Self (Spirit), to the Earth, and to the Divine through guided meditation. Depending on the group that day, we may incorporate a healing circle or a sharing circle or other activities that can bring about powerful growth and healing.

Each experience we offer is designed to be different and provide a unique experience to the individual and group. 

​

True North experiences will all be oriented towards finding connection and the integration of mind, body, and spirit. A few examples of our offerings:

​

  • Nature as our guide and teacher - understanding aspects of nature and how it influences our health - including light, water, forest bathing, healing plants, and more.

  • Support and emotional healing for those on a cancer journey.

  • Escape into nature to reset circadian rhythms and stress responses.

  • Team building - build connection and cohesiveness through outdoor activities.

  • Overcoming fear and discovering your inner strength and power.

  • Exploring rites of passage for adolescents.

  • A space where elderly can find connection and learn ways to participate in the mentorship of youth and others.

  • Simple exploration of nature in all seasons.

 

Hiking


Day hikes on trails through dense forests, alongside mountain streams, to alpine lakes and/or viewpoints.  Day hikes will be planned to incorporate different natural environments - the alpine lake, grand vista, or sunrise hikes and more.

Backpacking

 

A chance to spend the night under the stars and watch the night come alive.  Trips are typically 1-3 night excursions in the mountains. Trips can be either a simple immersion into the outdoors, or a more healing retreat oriented experience.

 

Camping

 

Group camping typically near a river or lake or in snow environments for those ready to add a bit more chill

Fly Fishing

Scrambling or climbing to a summit provides a challenging backdrop for personal growth and empowerment.

Rock climbing is a great way to challenge yourself to overcome fears and reach new heights.
